This pilot project demonstrated the integration of rooftop solar photovoltaic (RTPV), battery storage, and grid supply with electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the BESCOM Corporate Office premises. The initiative aimed to showcase a practical model for clean and reliable EV charging powered by distributed renewable energy.
As part of the project, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared for implementation, accompanied by the development of an energy management strategy to optimise the utilisation of RTPV generation for EV charging. The team also identified a suitable system architecture for direct integration of RTPV and storage with EV chargers, and subsequently procured and commissioned the integrated system at the site. A comprehensive techno-economic analysis was conducted to evaluate the system’s performance, operational benefits, and financial viability, offering key insights for scaling similar integrated RTPV–EV charging solutions across urban utilities.
