Karnataka DISHA is an interactive analytics dashboard designed to transform rich, multidimensional socioeconomic data into actionable insights for evidence-based decision-making. Covering all 30 districts from 2011-12 to 2021-22, but excluding Vijayanagar, a district formed in 2021, given our focus on the 2011-2021 decade. The platform provides a holistic view of development by integrating standardized indicators across infrastructure, industry, and agriculture and allied sectors.
The hub utilizes advanced analytical tools- Principal Component Analysis (PCA), cluster analysis, trend lines, and scatter plots—to enable users to explore patterns, disparities, and growth relationships. Beyond simple visualization, DISHA features comparative indices and benchmarking tools that assess inter-district performance, directly helping policymakers identify strengths, gaps, and priority areas for intervention.
A key component is the Trade Flow Insights module, which captures detailed import and export data for the agriculture and allied and food and beverage sectors across road, rail, and air, offering a comprehensive view of Karnataka’s interactions. Delivered through an intuitive Power BI interface, DISHA serves as a one-stop platform for researchers, farmers societies and policymakers to monitor progress, evaluate policies, and design region-specific strategies for inclusive and sustainable development.
