The Analyst would be involved in conducting in-depth research and help in executing work on sustainability (including rural economy). A proven background in developmental economics is desired. The role requires a firm understanding of sustainability and data collection on rural and agrarian markets. The incumbent should be creative and must be willing to ideate new projects on sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Carry out in-depth research on sustainability and rural economy.
- Undertake in-depth data collection, structuring, and analyses.
- Help in executing projects on sustainability within the specified timeframe.
- Conduct literature reviews and be able to compile relevant information into actionable items.
- Assist with efforts around engagement with external organisations and partners.
- Assist in preparing project reports, articles, and power-point presentations, as and when needed.
- Undertake basic number crunching, data sourcing and structuring, and empirical analysis, and be able to make assessments, as required for the project.
- Diligently execute administrative and other activities as deemed necessary, e.g., organising meetings, preparing minutes, liaisoning, etc.
Qualifications
- Graduation or Post-graduation in economics/agricultural economics/sustainability/circular economy from an IIM/IIT(B-schools) or other Tier-1 B-schools, with thorough experience in data collection, structuring, and analysis.
- Candidates with interdisciplinary qualifications or specialised certifications on the subject (such as on rural economy and sustainable development, or circular economy) are also encouraged to apply.
Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years of research experience in think tanks, or government or academic institutions, on sustainability or sustainable development.
- Relevant working knowledge of data collection, structuring, and analysis will be preferred.
Skill Set
- Proficiency in data sourcing, collection, structuring, and analysis.
- Strong passion and acumen towards research and policy enrichment in the field.
- Ability to work in a team and deliver quality output with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, narration, and writing skills.
- Well-versed with MS-Office tools, with good presentation skills.
- Ability and willingness to work on interdisciplinary and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to produce deliverables as required, quickly/within a short turnaround time.
- Proficiency in at least two or more empirical tools like STATA, SPSS, R, linear interpolation, exterpolation, etc.
- Strong work ethics and a sense of responsibility towards the work assigned.
- Must be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and contribute towards the growth of CSTEP.
