We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with expertise in agriculture to join us as a Senior Analyst. This role involves conducting in-depth research and analysis of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) trends, practices, and technologies, and providing strategic recommendations to support sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. The Senior Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive innovation and develop evidence-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation in the agricultural sector.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on CSA practices, technologies, policies, and trends at both local and global levels.
- Analyse and synthesise data to identify gaps, opportunities, and challenges in the adoption of CSA. Monitor and forecast climate change impacts on agriculture and develop relevant strategies.
- Develop and recommend innovative strategies to promote and support CSA practices within the agriculture industry.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate CSA principles into existing agricultural programmes, initiatives, and policies.
- Develop training sessions with the team on CSA principles, practices, and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and field staff regarding the implementation of CSA initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and policy briefs on CSA. Present research findings and recommendations to the senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Agricultural Science or Agricultural Engineering.
Experience
A minimum of 4–7 years of experience in agriculture, with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices.
Skill Set
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with a proven track record of conducting independent research and producing high-quality reports and publications.
- Knowledge of climate change science and its impact on agriculture, coupled with an understanding of CSA principles, practices, and technologies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel domestically, as required.
- Proficiency in data analysis software/DSSAT/GIS tools is highly desirable.
