Professor MGK Menon was an eminent physicist and policymaker. He contributed to the development of science and technology in India for more than five decades. A notable contribution was the nurturing of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. In addition, Prof. Menon served as the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Director General, CSIR, and Scientific Advisor to RM. He was a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and the Minister of State for Science & Technology. He was a recipient of several national and international awards which include the prestigious Padma Vibhushan.
