Sector Head - Renewables and Energy Conservation

Saptak Ghosh is Sector Head – Renewables and Energy Conservation and provides strategic leadership in the areas of distributed renewable energy, technology assessment, policy development, and innovative renewable energy applications.

He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, and a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru. His expertise encompasses a wide range of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies and approaches, including rooftop solar, agrivoltaics, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), small wind systems, waste-to-energy solutions, industrial decarbonisation for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), carbon markets, and innovative cluster design.

He serves on multiple high-level advisory committees, including the agrivoltaics and rooftop solar advisory committees for central ministries and various state energy departments and nodal agencies. He is also a distinguished member of the Principal Action Committee (PAC) of the India Agrivoltaics Alliance.
