Tashina Madappa Cheranda

Senior Associate

Tashina Madappa Cheranda is Senior Associate in the Adaptation and Risk Analysis team of the Climate, Environment and Sustainability sector at CSTEP.

She completed her BSc in Biotechnology from St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, and MSc in Climate Science and Policy from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi. She also holds an LLM in Climate Change Law and Policy from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.

Prior to joining CSTEP, she worked as a consultant for IORA Ecological Solutions Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Aranya Climate Change Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore; International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), London, UK; and World Bank, New Delhi. She has also worked as Project Manager at Agriculture Development and Training Society, Bagepalli, and as Low Carbon Farming (LCF) Expert for Environmental Defence Fund (EDF), Austin, USA. Her experience includes working with research teams as a Project Associate at IIT, Mandi, and Centre for Sustainable Technologies, IISc, Bangalore, as well.

Her areas of interest include vulnerability and climate change risk assessment, climate smart agriculture, watershed development, rural economies, and ecological solutions for climate-resilient development.
