Coordinator -Climate Resilient Cell

The Climate Resilient Cell Coordinator will be the primary point of contact and will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, line departments, farmer producer organisations (FPOs), and community members. The incumbent will coordinate with the Climate Support Cell (CSC), Government of Odisha, and ensure that project activities and outputs are aligned with the state’s overall goals and objectives. 


Responsibilities


  • Lead the team at Odisha in developing and implementing climate-resilient agriculture strategies and action plans aligned with state polices. 
  • Liaison with CSC, government agencies, FPOs, SHGs, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate knowledge sharing and effective implementation of climate-smart practices.
  • Assist in establishing/strengthening effective coordination mechanisms among the stakeholders and other line departments to institutionalise and promote climate-smart agriculture (CSA) in the state.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to nodal department/stakeholders to set up/review and monitor institutional mechanisms and processes to adopt or advance CSA in the state. 
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring the timely delivery of project objectives and outcomes.
  • Compile and disseminate relevant information, case studies, and best practices related to CSA, facilitating knowledge sharing and learning among stakeholders.
  • Prepare timely and accurate progress reports, project updates, and technical briefs, and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.



Qualifications


  • An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in agriculture/environment studies/economics/public policy or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of work experience at the national/state level in development projects (preferably on sustainable agriculture and climate resilience), including implementation and monitoring/evaluation of such projects.



Skill Set


  • Strong knowledge and understanding of climate-smart agriculture practices/technologies, and climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for assessing climate resilience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant software applications and tools.

GIS Analyst

We are seeking a GIS Analyst with expertise in GIS, programming, and remote sensing to conduct advanced spatial analyses and deliver high-quality insights that support research and inform policy.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct in-depth spatial analyses to support project objectives and address complex research questions.
  • Manage and process large, complex datasets using GIS software and platforms (e.g. Google Earth Engine, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS).
  • Design, implement, and refine research methodologies for GIS projects to ensure scientific rigour and reproducibility.
  • Develop visually compelling maps, dashboards, and data visualisations for reports, presentations, and interactive applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of researchers and policy experts to integrate geospatial insights into broader research initiatives.
  • Contribute to and co-author research reports, policy briefs, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Maintain precise documentation of data sources, methodologies, and analytical workflows.


Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting spatial analyses and managing GIS projects from conception through completion.


Skill Set


  • Strong expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and tools.
  • Proficiency in GIS software, including professional experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE) and advanced proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and programming tools such as Python (e.g. Pandas, GeoPandas, and Rasterio) and/or R for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
  • Proficiency in Geoserver.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing skills for producing clear, compelling, and accurate research reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of Geo-AI and machine learning techniques is highly desirable.

We are seeking highly motivated interns to support ground surveys in the industrial areas of Bengaluru. The role involves conducting ground-level surveys, engaging with stakeholders, and systematically recording survey results into structured MS Excel databases. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in field data collection, industry-focused surveys, and stakeholder engagement.



Responsibilities


  • Visit assigned industrial areas to assist in ground-level surveys.
  • Interact with industry representatives and workers to collect relevant information.
  • Accurately record survey data in structured MS Excel templates.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness.
  • Transcribe the data into usable formats for reports.
  • Support the project team with day-to-day survey operations and reporting.


Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree or a recent bachelor’s degree in any discipline 
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel (data entry, formatting, and simple functions)


Skill Set


  • Proficiency in spoken Kannada (mandatory)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective field interactions
  • Analytical ability to review data, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
