CSTEP organised a two-day regional workshop on ‘The Fundamentals of Air Quality Modelling and Its Role in Air Quality Management’ at Inspire Hall, Le Méridien New Delhi, with support from Open Philanthropy and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The first day of the workshop featured lectures on air quality modelling fundamentals. On the second day, panel discussions and research presentations showcased the latest advancements in air quality modelling and their impact on air quality management. Participants were guided on how air quality models can steer policy decisions in countries where air pollution is a major concern.
The workshop also highlighted results from new reduced complexity modelling tools developed by CSTEP and IIT Bombay in collaboration with UC Berkeley, University of Washington, and Carnegie Mellon University for policy applications in India.
